General info on Da Lat
Da Lat is the capital of Lam Dong province. At the height of 1500 meters above sea level, with a cool asmostphere, Da Lat is a perfect get-a-way in the Southern area. Once famous for attractions such as Valley of Love, Whisper Lake, Two Tombs Hill, Elephant Waterfall…, Da Lat today doesn’t have the untouched scenery like it used to. Popular tourist attractions are Xuan Huong Lake, Langbiang Peak, The Palace of Bao Dai King, Tran Le Xuan Palace, Thien Vien Truc Lam Monasery, Tuyen Lam Lake and Da Lat Railway Station (Trai Mat Station). 300km from Saigon, the city of Da Lat is a fantastic vacation spot to those seaking to get outof the heat of the South Central Highlands.

Transportation: How to get around Da Lat
Plane: Straight flight from Hanoi, Da Nang or HCMC to Lien Khuong Airport (Da Lat) by Vietnam Airlines and Vietjetair. Ticket ranges from VND 900,000 to VND 1.600,000, flight duration can be between 50 mins and 1 hour and 40 mins.
Note: From Lien Khuong Airport, you can take a transit bus to Da Lat city for VND 50,000 (it will stop at Hang Khong Hotel on Pasteur Street near Xuan Huong Lake) or take a taxi at VND 300,000/trip.
Regular bus: Phuong Trang and Thanh Buoi bus line have many routes between Saigon and Da Lat, ticket for one way trip at VND 200,000 (regular seat) and VND 240,000 (bed seat), scheduled for every 30 mins to 1 hour.
Open bus: such as Phuong Trang, Kim Travel, Hanh Cafe, Sinh Tourist, T.M. Brother’s Café. One way ticket ranges from VND 130,000 to VND 160,000.
Transportation in Dalat:
Motorcycles: Price from 80,000 – 120,000VND/day.
Double bikes: 20,000VND/hour. To rent a bicycle or motorcycle you need to bring ID card.
Rental cars: Within a day (from 8:00 – 17:00) from 1 million or more, overtime at 100,000 VND/hour.
Bus: There are buses from the city center to other parts of Da Lat. Fee is calculated based on the distance, ranges from 4,000 – 30,000VND/person.

CENTRA DA LAT – XUAN HUONG LAKE – DA LAT MARKET
Da Lat Market and Am Phu Market: a must see when travelling to Da Lat. There sells many clothes at a good price, as well as specialties such as mulberry juice, artichoke tea, mixed dried beans jams and lima beans.
Xuan Huong Lake: A symbol of Da Lat. Most beautiful to view at sunrise and sunset. Other activities like duck boat, motorboat or go canoeing on the lake.
The Palace of King Bao Dai Dinh: the elegant and grand palace at the height of 1539m. Located on Trieu Viet Vuong Street, 2.5km South from city center.
Da Lat Railway Station: Located at No. 1 Quang Trung Street, an usual spot for those interested in photography.
Da Lat Flower Garden: Located at No. 2 Phu Dong Thien Vuong Street, 2km from city center. Tourists come here to view and take picture with gorgeous flowers only seen in Da Lat.
Da Lat Cathedral (Chicken Church): Got the name from the big chicken statue on top of its bell tower. This is the biggest church in Da Lat, one of the most symbolic and old work of architecture in the city from the French colony. Address: Tran Phu Street (near Novotel Hotel)
Tay Nguyen Biology Institute / Institute of Biology of Dalat: On the hill of Tung Lam, 10km from the center of Da Lat city on the road near Yellow Springs. In addition to its breath taking scenery, Biology Institute also is an animal museum and botanical garden.
Domaine de Marie Church/ Mai Anh Church: Located on Ngo Quyen Street, 1km to the southwest. The church is a mix between 17th century Wester architecture and the traditional houses in Tay Nguyen.
Da Lat Pedagogy College: Recognized by the International Architecture Union as one of the 1000 most unique architecture design due to its arch shape with the high light as the bll tower, also called “the Arc”.
Muoi Loi Valley of Flower: on Le Hong Phong Street near King Bao Dai’s Palace. Th valley has a magnificient cherry blossom garden and many strange, delicious dishes.
Trai Mat Station – Linh Phuoc Pagoda: Near Trai Mat station there are many tourist sites like King Bao Dai’s vacation home, Trai Mat market or Linh Phuoc Pagoda. This pagoda has a unique shell covered walls, especially there’s a dragon made of 12000 beer bottles, thus earning the name “Scrap Pagoda”.
NORTH DA LAT:
Valley of Love: is the most poetic and romantic site in Da Lat, is about 6km northeast of the city center. Guests can go around Vong Canh Hill and view the entire Valley of Love in its wonder.
Mount Lang Bian: 12 km to the north of city center. From the foot of the hill you have two choices to go up: hiking or by jeep. 180,000VND for an entire jeep, or you can wait to have enough 6 people per car, ticket at 50,000VND/person. It takes 15 minutes to reach the top. If you choose hiking (by the asphalt road) you have to go about 7-8 kilometers in about 1,5 hour. Road up the mountain sides are filled with wildflowers and lined by pine rees. On top of the mountain is stunning landscape and you can also enjoy grilled dishes.
Cu Lan Village: brand new discovery of Da Lat, is a beautiful small village, between thousands of acres of forest at the foot of Lang Bian, 9km from Golden Valley.
Golden Valley /Golden Lake: From Da Lat center go north to Lac Duong for 7km, turn left at Tung Lam, go straight about 12km on the road going to Suoi Vang. The road on to the valley is beautiful, perfect for a picnic.

SOUTH DA LAT:
Tuyen Lam Lake: Located at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level, 5km to the south from the center, on the Prenn pass. There you can rent a boat to the island. A round trip is 200,000VND, so you should rent with other guests to save money. Or you can go round the lake (left) along the road to the island. On the island you can just enjoy natural meat from the forest or enjoy a picnic and pose for a picture. At noon you can rent a hammock 7,000 VND/ hour and hang between the pines to rest.
Thien Vien Truc Lam Monastry: located on Phung Hoang Mountain, above Tuyen Lam Lake. This is not only the largest monastery in Lam Dong, but also a popular tourist attraction of Dalat. In front of the monastery gate is the cable car to view the city and pine forest below (50,000VND/return ticket).
Prenn Falls: Located in the top of Prenn Pass, on Highway 20 from Saigon to Dalat, 10 km to the south from the center. Coming to Prenn, besides watching the great waterfall and an immense hill, visitors also have the chance to taste specialties like snakehead fish soup at the price ranging from 160,000VND to 200,000VND for 4 people to eat.
Datanla Falls: attracts tourists with clear water stream that flows through 7 levels of rock formation then crashing down on the big rocks at the bottom. 5km from the center, located between the Prenn Pass. From Highway 20 go 300 meters downhill to a small valley, you will encounter Datanla with attractive landscapes and untouched nature.
FARTHER AREA OF DA LAT
Cau Dat Tea Village: with green tea fields and especially wild sunflowers in the last months of the year. From the city center, just run straight along Tran Hung Dao – Hung Vuong Street and look for directions to Trai Mat, from there ask any people to Xuan Truong Village. Because of the altitude over 1,650m above to sea level, the climate in the tea plantation is cool all year round. Visiting a tea plantation is not charged, so feel free to enter the gates of Cau Dat tea factory.
Elephant Falls – Linh An Temple: located in the town of Nam Ban, Lam Ha district, 25km southwest from the city of Dalat. Lieng Rowoa Falls aka Elephant Falls is a beautiful waterfall in the Highlands with a height of over 30 meters, about 15 meters wide. Behind the white cascade of water are deep smoking mysteriously caves such as Bat Cave, Wind Cave … Temple Linh An is located in Elephant Falls. Within the church there are a lot of large sized and elaborately carved statues.
D’ran Town: under D’ran Pass on the way to Dalat, Don Duong District. D’ran is famous for bright yellow wild sunflowers. There is also specialty called baked rolls with unforgettable taste.
Pongour Fall: al called The Seven-Storey Waterfall located in Duc Trong district, 50 km from Da Lat. The 40m high waterfall stretches almost 100 meters wide and has 7 floors. Pongour is the only waterfall in Lam Dong that holds festival every year on the full moon of January.
Dambri Falls: located about 100km down from Dalat. 200km from HCMC up along Highway 20, Dambri falls (district Dambri ecotourism), is close to Bao Loc City about 18km northeast. This is the highest waterfalls in Lam Dong with height above 40m, forming two high and low current, very majestic.
